Abe Kruger

Abe Kruger has honed his expertise in sustainable construction for 10 years as a contractor, educator, and consultant in the residential construction industry. He trains construction industry professionals across the country on sustainable building practices. He has designed, implemented, and evaluated energy efficiency programs for over thirty electric and gas utilities, including ENERGY STAR new homes, Home Performance with ENERGY STAR, low-income weatherization, and HVAC tune-up programs. He has numerous industry accreditations, including Certified Energy Manager (CEM), LEED AP HOMES, LEED AP Neighborhood Development, LEED Green Rater, BPI Building Analyst and Envelope Professional, and Home Energy Rating System (HERS) Trainer and Rater.

Abe is the cofounder of SK Collaborative, which provides consulting, design reviews and charrettes, training, and building certification under LEED for Homes, EarthCraft House, ENERGY STAR, the National Green Building Standard, and Enterprise Green Communities. SK Collaborative is currently certifying over 1,000 units of single- and multifamily housing. He is also the coauthor of the first residential green building textbook, Green Building: Principles and Practices in Residential Construction (Delmar/Cengage Learning).
